HANDPAINTED 'KONARK CHAKRA' PATTACHITRA SAREE

The name “Pattachitra” is derived from two Sanskrit words: 'Patta' meaning "cloth" and 'Chitra' meaning "picture." Artists begin by sketching the basic design on the surface. The detailing is done using fine brushes with natural colors made from minerals, herbs, and flowers. The hallmark of Pattachitra art is its fine, intricate brushwork. The paintings are traditionally done on cloth, though they can also be painted on palm leaves or wooden surfaces.

The colors are vivid and long-lasting, and the painting technique uses a unique blend of natural pigments and adhesives. 

The saree showcases Konark Chakra - a symbol of precision and architectural brilliance. Alongside, the graceful Nartaki (dancer) motifs capture fluidity and rhythm , embodying elegance, movement and devotion.
